Here is my version of baby Jack. I used Jack as an opportunity to try a few “firsts” I’ve recently started switching over from IArt Reborn Matte Skin (which is no longer available) to Gemini Matte Varnish, so I have tested it out on him. I also took the opportunity to experiment with combined hair for the first time. I’m really pleased with how he has turned out and I hope you enjoy his pictures.

I purchased the blank Jack sculpt from a trusted fellow artist. As he is an older sculpt and has been an open edition for quite some time he does not come with a certificate of authenticity. However, I’m more than happy to provide proof of my original purchase if you would like it. I have kept his original sculpt name and chosen to keep him as a boy, but this can easily be changed if you prefer.

I have spent many hours carefully painting delicate details, using Genesis Heat Set paints to gradually build up realistic layered fair skin tones. I’ve added fine close-up details, to enhance his realism. To complete my work I sealed his skin with Gemini Matte Varnish. This was my first time using this varnish, and I am absolutely delighted with the result, the finish is soft, and feels natural.

I believe Jack was sculpted to be full arms and 3/4 legs. However, in my professional opinion, and with the quality of the fully loaded body I have chosen for him he works far better as full legs. They are certainly long enough and as you can see they look completely in proportion on him. He has a quality soft body, and his head and limbs can be gently moved for natural posing and positioning.

 Baby Jack is a sleeping baby with closed eyes, I have hand rooted his eyelashes with a mix of baby brown slumberland mohair and blonde susan nagel mohair.

I decided to try combined hair on Jack. I mixed blonde Genesis paints to closely match the blonde mohair and painted his detailed hair before hand rooting the top section. I used the lightest pale blonde from 'Susan Nagel’s Deluxe Mohair' with a slight wave one of my personal favourite brands to work with, as it is beautifully soft. The hair has been sealed from the inside, so it can be gently sprayed and carefully combed. He will also come with a soft baby brush.

Baby Jack is evenly weighted approx 5.5lb I have used fine glass beads and fibre fill in his limbs, bottom and head, he is floppy and feels natural to hold, he will need supporting like a real newborn.

Baby Jack has a magnet fitted behind his mouth so he can hold his magnetic dummy. (Please note, the magnets I use are extremely strong neo magnets and can pose a risk around pacemakers. If needed, feel free to message me to have them removed.)

Baby Jack will fit perfectly in "newborn size" baby clothing.  If you are considering adopting Baby Jack for a younger collector, please keep in mind that he is NOT A TOY and contains small parts, he has been made with collectors in mind, he MUST be handled with LOVE. 

Baby Jack will be prepared with a lovely detailed box opening, examples of how I pack my boxes for travelling can be viewed on my Instagram.

He will arrive in a box, complete with new clothing and accessories along with care details,  as well as his own photo book, he will be presented with tissue paper and ribbons.
