Welcome to my listing! Here’s your chance to adopt my work. All the photos of Perla were taken by me and show the exact Doll available for adoption.

I'm excited to share my version of the child-size Perla with you! Dolls of this size are quite rare and limited for several reasons, there are fewer larger sculpts available  and some artists simply prefer not to make them. Personally, I love the challenge of making child sized and toddler dolls, and I'm always on the hunt for them. I've chosen to keep her original sculpt name and have dressed her as a girl. I purchased the 'Perla' sculpt from the UK supplier, 'Dollli Creations'. Perla was originally sculpted by Jannie De Lange.

I will be happy to dress her as a boy if you prefer. However, if you decide you’d like her as a boy, I will leave her hair as it is and recommend that you take her to a hairdresser to have it professionally styled in a way that suits your preference.

I started working on her back in March, but because she is so large and has such a big head to root, it has taken me a while to complete her.

I have taken lots of pictures of  Perla, which are available on facebook and instagram, She has a full online album via this facebook link - Facebook .

I have used Genesis heat set paints to build up detailed skin tones, including sweet little freckles, I have used a flat layer of 'IArtReborn Matte Skin' to complete and seal her skin work.

Perla has a half torso, extending from her upper chest to her neck, which supports her ball-jointed head. This lovely feature allows for more outfit options, including sleeveless dresses, as seen in the beautiful pink gown she is wearing. Her ball-jointed head moves freely, making posing and positioning effortless. Her arms can be moved up and down, while her legs are sculpted to the knees and attached to her custom made body. They bend at the knees, allowing her to sit with her knees up, crossed over, or posed to the side. She’s such a joy to photograph because she can be positioned in so many different ways.

Perla has stunning open hazel German Lauche glass eyes, with specially made upper and lower eyelashes. I absolutely adore these eyes and carefully selected them to enhance her fair skin and hair colour.

Perla is a child size doll designed to represent a three year old and weighs approximately 14lb. I have used fine crushed glass beads and fibre fill, carefully considering her weight distribution since she will need to be picked up and moved. Instead of weighting her evenly like a regular sized reborn, I have weighted her lower legs and just below the elbows of her arms, allowing them to be lifted without dropping down. She also has weight in her bottom for balance. Her head, torso, and upper arms are filled with virgin fibre fill, making her lighter so she can be seated comfortably. Due to her size, she will require support when positioned.

You may wish to purchase a stand for her if you would like her to be standing, I can share a link to a supplier if you would like the option.

I have carefully hand rooted Perla’s long, curly ginger hair using a human blended hair. The beauty of this hair is that it holds its curls and waves naturally and when washed they will spring back into shape. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend using heat styling tools like hair dryer or straightener, but if you choose to do so, please proceed at your own risk and always on the lowest setting.

I have directionally rooted her hair with a side parting, which can be combed and styled in different ways if preferred. The hair is securely sealed from the inside, allowing you to gently wash and brush.

Perla represents a three year old, so she no longer has a dummys, she knows she's much too grown up for that now.

A couple of things to mention about some of Perla’s clothing, I purchased the light cream coloured dress for her because it’s a vintage piece, and I thought it looked gorgeous with her hair colour. Since it’s a child's vintage dress, I’m sure it will have been worn, but I have had it cleaned.

I bought the pretty red shoes a while ago because they reminded me of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, so I was thrilled when I realized they fit Perla! To complete the look, I got her a dressing up costume to go with them. This is a costume dress and, in all honesty, doesn’t have the quality of proper clothing, but it’s just for fun.

All other items, including her pink gown, are brand new, I just wanted to mention the other two pieces.

She will fit perfectly in clothing for a 3 year old 

If you are considering adopting Perla for a younger collector, please keep in mind that She is NOT A TOY and contains small parts, she is large and is more awkward to freely move around, she has been made with collectors in mind, she MUST be handled with LOVE.

She will arrive in a box, complete with her new clothing and accessories along with  her vintage dress and her dressing up dress, as well as her own photo book, She will be presented with tissue paper and ribbons
